The results from this project have now been sent to the appropriate collection holders (National Science and Media Museum and Tim Smith), where they will be used to further update and enhance the associated metadata for both photographic collections.
Preliminary conversations with collection holders have suggested that there is a lot of excitement over such a wealth of additional data, and will be particularly useful in further cataloguing some of the individual photographs for future use.
You can now view the aggregated data generated from this project at our project's GitHub page.
Learnings from volunteer experiences of this project and the subject matter have also contributed to the Congruence Engine's research on the role of community-generated data and community participation within the Social Machine. This is currently in the process of being written up for publication in an edited volume, due to be published in early 2026.
Results have also informed the development of contributions to a new exhibit focused broadly on the work of the Congruence Engine project, which will launch at the National Science and Media Museum (Bradford, United Kingdom) in early 2025.
