Percent completeHuman-computer interaction is a fast growing sub-field of crowdsourced research efforts. The Zooniverse team needs your help to determine the efficacy of our new data ingest pathway, as well as feedback on our 'correct-a-machine' transcription workflow.
blicksamThe Adler Planetarium and University of Minnesota Zooniverse teams, in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Libraries, have created a data ingest pathway for machine-generated transcription data, that can now be reviewed (and completed) by Zooniverse volunteers.
This workflow will help us 1) better understand the data quality of machine transcriptions; and 2) gather feedback on the user experience for this type of 'correct-a-machine' workflow. The project results will be used to refine future Zooniverse tools and projects aiming to invite volunteers to help correct machine-generated transcriptions. These documents have already been fully transcribed, so that we can measure the quality of the machine output.
