Education

Hello Dark Energy Explorers & Visitors!

Our Education and Public Outreach Team has constructed a lesson for educators to implement classifications of our data. (Optimal for 8th-12th Grade Classrooms, and Undergraduate audiences.)

Implementation of this offline lesson is intended to introduce our participatory science (formerly known as citizen-science) to all students and adults. However, within the classroom, instructors can vary the rigor of this lesson to explore/elaborate on spectrometry, blackholes, galaxies, or even telescope collection efforts in different perspectives. Feel free to combine our lesson with any lesson resources that McDonald Observatory has made. If you are an individual passionate about education, apply to their astronomy/physics workshops here!

Checkout the resources below, if you are an educator or participant that needs resources to broaden access within their lesson content:

We are committed in ensuring you can communicate topics on cosmology to your audience. If you would like more information on specific topics or have resources that could be useful for educators, please share those within the Educator Talk Board too!
