Finished! Looks like this project is out of data at the moment!
Welcome to a new version of KSO with movies, updated species keys, extensive field guides, and teaching modules.
Our results are now presented at the Swedish national platform for subsea image analysis, SUBSIM.
We are happy to announce the inauguration of the Swedish national platform for analysis of subsea images (SUBSIM).
When: Tuesday, 9th April 2024, 09.00-14.00
Where: Wallenberg Center, Gothenburg
Program: We give an introduction and technical overview to SUBSIM, followed by an outline of the user support and short presentations of scientific cases from the fields of marine conservation, invasion biology, aquaculture and climate change. There will also be enough time for questions, feedback, and discussions.
Register: If you want to join the event, use the SUBSIM in the near future, or simply want to know more about it, please send an email to matthias.obst@marine.gu.se Space is very limited!
This infrastructure project develops an open-source platform for subsea image analysis to support research and monitoring in marine ecosystems. Our services provide essential functions for machine learning, data management, and digital collaboration in an high-performance computing environment. Together, these functions enable scientists to extract species and habitat information from underwater images. SUBSIM’s image analysis services are gradually integrated with national and global e-infrastructures such as the Swedish Biodiversity Data Infrastructure and the Digital Twin of the Ocean. Below you find continuous updates of the recent development of the platform.
