The images of wildlife come from a variety of both public and private protected areas in the southwestern US. The current imagery is from Turner Ranch in New Mexico. Past imagery come from refuges managed in the National Refuge System, including Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge and Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico, Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge in Texas, and Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. Images from Red Rock Wildlife Management Area in New Mexico, managed by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, are also included.
